Saturday is a very special day for me. Not only is it a usual day off for me, but it also means Saturday morning cartoons with my son. Yes, I’m not ashamed to admit it. I watch cartoons. You should too.
It’s not like I remember though. First off, there’s enough commercials to choke a horse. Yes son, we’ll see if they have those small plastic / metal spinning tops of destruction, talking / attacking gerbils and glow in the dark hamburgers.
Secondly, the classic cartoons (like Bugs Bunny) are still on, but now edited. I can’t believe I just watched bugs bunny point an oversized cannon at Yosemite Sam only to have the actual shooting of the cannon edited out. Do the censors in this country really think that kids watching someone get blasted with an oversize / embellished cannon is going to lead to something worse? I asked my son what he thought. His response? “It’s just a cartoon.” Exactly. Kids are smarter than you think.
Thirdly, it gives me creative inspiration. Now that I’m more design-oriented, I get inspiration from where I can. I guess that’s why my client has the bunny ears and ‘Pow’ symbol in their logo.
Finally, my son just informed me that we’re suppose to be spending time together. So, this is it for now.
